Need For Budgeting
"Budgeting is not just for people who do not have enough money. It is for everyone who wants to ensure that their money is enough."
Rosette Mugidde Wamambe
Every year in February, the finance minister presents the Budget. Everyone gets excited because it spells out what will get cheaper and what will become costlier. More importantly, it explains various Tax regimes. Additionally, it informs how much government intends to earn in the following financial year and how much it is going to spend.
The same process has to be applied by every working individual in their life. Be it a fresher who has just joined or somebody making 6 figure income. A budget helps us to identify our sources of income, and our expenses. It assists us in outlining essential expenses (like groceries, electricity bills, home loans, etc) and non-essential expenses (like frequent cinema trips, that unnecessary shopping on online e-commerce portals, etc).
It gives a clear picture of your financial health. It assists you in plugging unnecessary financial holes in your budget while improving savings. It allows you to plan your savings and reduce expenses which will help you in the longer run.
Budgeting is very crucial in every working professional's life and should not be neglected even once. It might seem time-consuming and you might dread finding out the follies you have made, but it's better late than ever to clean up your act and improve your financial health.
